With so many skin care products on the market its hard to find ones you can trust. While I use proven products in my treatment room and prescribe them as home care maintenance. I realize that when my clients leave they are bombarded by a world of promising products and pretty packaging. This is what I tell my regulars… focus on ingredients – preferably biogenic ingredients that are safe and easily utilized by the body with out causing toxicity or allergic reactions. Whatever your skins needs and concerns are there are specific ingredients that will benefit you.
Here are some of my favorite biogenic ingredients:
A Biogenic skin softener that speeds healing and improves skin hydration.
Pineapple Enzyme that helps to gently slough off dead skin cells, leaves you with a fresh, safely exfoliated glow and contains anti-inflammatory properties
Oxygen delivery system, improves oxygen content of the skin, which then improves moisture retention which helps to soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
Enhances Skin immunity, accelerates wound closing and helps to protector skin from UV damage
Alpha Hydroxy acid with anti aging benefits
Exists naturally in the skin and has HUGE water binding properties.
(Holds a thousand times its weight in water. Mixed in make-up it leaves your skin looking healthy, dewy and fresh)
Anti-bacterial, will not cause break outs. It’s a “non-oil” that is similar to natural human lipids
Mild, hydrating and lightening Alpha Hydroxy. I absolutely love mild peels and cleansers that use this product effectively.
There is a big wide world of peptides- I will address all of their possibilities in another posting. To touch on the magic of peptides they are amino acid chains that improve the health and growth of skin tissue.
A powerful anti bacterial agent with anti acne, peeling and exfoliating properties.
A beta Hydroxy that breaks up oil and is great of acne prone skin.
Extremely powerful form of vitamin E.
Vitamin A / Retinol
Is the most powerful fat-soluble nutrient. It is essential for the regeneration and function of skin cells. Once applied Vitamin A converts to Retinoic Acid. In this chemical state the nutrient provides anti-aging benefits by stimulating cell growth and turning cells over at a faster rate, thus improving texture and clarity.
Supports small blood vessels, improving the strength of capillary walls, improves spider vein conditions, heals bruises.
Source of Zinc and Sulfur for soothing, healing and improving blemished skin.
